Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) come from natural plant sources, and are sometimes
referred to as Fruit Acids. It's easy to see why: Glycolic Acid, a very small
and highly penetrative molecule, is extracted from sugar cane, Citric Acid
derives from citrus fruits, Tartaric Acid is from grapes and Malic Acid comes
from apples. Together, these fruit acids are exfoliants that loosen dead cells
from the skin's surface by dissolving the natural glue-like substances that
refuse to release the dead cells when they should. Dry and flaky as they are,
these cells are unreliable in preventing moisture loss, yet they create a
barrier to moisturising creams. Getting rid of these dead cells evenly means
that fresher cells are exposed in the skin renewal process. Since it takes 21
- 28 days for the skin renewal process to complete a cycle, a similar amount
of time should be allowed to realise the full benefits of R3 Factor.

Fruit acid creams have been welcomed enthusiastically by some cosmetic
manufacturers and beauticians as the most important skin care agents of the
decade. Some claim they are beneficial for skin problems ranging from acne to
hyperpigmentation and sun-scarring. However, with some creams on the market,
there is a risk of irritation. By marrying the AHAs with the soothing

Directions

After cleansing, apply to face, neck and other areas where needed.
For best results, use both morning and night. May be followed by Firming
Foundation Lotion and/or makeup during the daytime, and by Recovering Night
Creme at night, if desired.
